It's a technical solution that integrates data networks (LAN) and telephony systems into an integrated system with an identical wiring for the two types of communication (UTP Cat.5e, Cat.6, cat.7) offering more functionality and flexibility to both communication systems (voice and data).
The passive (connecting) and active equipments (switching) are disposed in communication cabinets, interconnected by backbone connections on UTP gigabit cable or optical fiber.
