FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS

Fire detection systems are designed to detect fire conditions by monitoring changes in the environment that may be associated with fire, such as reaching a thermal threshold or sudden increase in temperature, smoke emissions or appearance of the flames.

Depending on complexity of the protected area there are appropriate technical solutions, from conventional systems for the residential environment to the addressable systems for commercial, industrial and public buildings.

In designing the system and adoption of technical solutions, one of the requirements which have to be envisaged is to achieve an optimized zoning in the fire detection system, for the purpose of precisely locate the alarm zones, in order to allow effective intervention in prevention, limitation and extinction the fire.

By means of alarm outputs, the fire detection systems can initiate automat commands to related systems in order to ensure the protection of persons from areas in alarm and the limitation of material damages, such as control of fire extinction systems, of the installation of exhaust smoke and hot gases, of interruption of electricity power supply, etc.
